Chalani Mystic was a Champion winner when shown as a Yearling, but due to a leg injury was never shown under saddle. He stood at Chalani for seven years until his untimely death. It was with absolute confidence that we offered Mystic at stud. Mystic passed every temperament test we have given a horse (easy to break in, clip his ears etc) MYSTIC WAS THE IDEAL SHOW HORSE: perfectly behaved, with presence, that all important "look at me " quality, and an ability to be wonderfully easy on the handler to show. A true four beat walk with big overtrack and impulsion (even as a foal he could out walk most horses), stunning extended trot, easy canter and a naturally square stop. Mystic had a tough set of perfectly shaped hooves of the right size and slope - a blacksmith’s dream - (because of selection we have not needed to shoe a Chalani bred horse in 15 years). Mystic’s breeding carries endurance bloodlines. His sire Chalani Pacesetter was measured by veterinary examination at three years of age to have the exceptional resting heart rate of 30 bpm, and has sired successful endurance stock. His dam Chalani Charm also had an outstanding low resting heart rate. Mystic is inbred to the legendary Rannock, the sire of former SA State endurance record holder, Peregrine. We can personally recommend Mystic's bloodlines as we bred his dam, granddam and sire. His pedigree combines the blood of the performance sire Rannock, with the best of other proven lines - Hill (from the famous Terlings Stud of Australia's greatest polo player Sinclair Hill), Master Raeburn (noted South Australian showjumping line) and Delray (proven old South Australian hack, hunter and hurdle bloodline).
We are thrilled with the quality of Mystic’s foals. They are quiet to break in and are competing under saddle with success. His progeny have won at Royal level in ASH Working, ridden, time trial and led. Other progeny have proven successful in Eventing, Dressage and Pony Club activities.
