Linton Lodge Gloaming
Pal mare, 01/10/1980, ASH 64176
Linton Lodge Gloaming was given to the Carlill Family (Tim and Phyllis) in 1996, following the death of her owner in an accident.
Phyllis says: "Linton Lodge Gloaming was an outstanding hack, about 16h. Penny was her home name. Penny won from Adelaide Royal to Melbourne Royal and Sydney Royal; a beautiful mare to ride and a lovely nature. We did muster on her occasionally. “
The Carlill family bred four foals from her, including Caralta Paris, purchased by Chalani Australian Stock Horses in 2012 and a palomino called Caralta Lace, who was sold and later drafted in Queensland for a few years, then put to stud.
A full sister to Linton Lodge Gloaming was Linton Lodge Glamour (1983). She was a foundation mare for the Goldview stud. She was shown extensively in ASH classes, Palomino classes, and Open classes, both led and ridden, with broad ribbon wins up to National level. She was 16.2hh.
Another full sister was Linton Lodge Golden Glamour (1966), owned by Goldrush Stud. They bred a couple of very nice palomino mares out of her, Goldrush Impression was one of them. Gail Rossington, owner of Claredale Champagne Charlie and many other top quality palominos, stated:
“We showed against Linton Lodge Golden Glamour with Charlie and Gold Stream. She was one of the nicest mares we have ever seen. Her colour was a little pale but was even. Mane and tail excellent. Conformation was superb. Movement was also very good.”
