Chalani Skylark

Chalani Skylark is a direct mare line descendant to the stud's foundation mare Paradis. She was shown as a weanling at the Pinto Association Youngstock Show for Champion ASH foal, Supreme Any Other Breed (ANSA registered) and Champion Open Breeds foal. As a yearling she was shown at Mt Pleasant Ag show for 1st ASH filly 3 years and under and Reserve Champion Led ASH Junior.  She was shown twice as a 2yo for Champion Led ANSA at Northern Hack and Halter Show Dec 2011 and Reserve Champion ASH Junior at Morphett Vale RC Breeds Show, Nov 2011 (to a Splashdance grandson). She was straight forward to start under saddle in Nov 2011 showing free paces and excellent rhythm.

Skylark was then leased to Melissa Boully, who moved to QLD and showed her a few times successfully,  also doing some team cattle penning events with her. She was bred to MJay Fortified  and subsequently produced a black filly in Qld, owned by the Knapp family. On the way home back to SA she was bred to Ellerston Churchill at Haydon Horse stud  resulting in a gelding (Dunkirk) also sold to Qld. In 2019, Skylark was bred to Narrangullen Annakin for the filly foal Chalani Skywalk which has been retained by the stud. Skylark has had four foals by Chalani Sunstream, 2 colts above, and 2 fillies owned by Melanie Johnson in SA, Chalani Pocket Rocket and Chalani Skydancer.

Skylark's dam Chalani Pivot, has produced 14 foals, of which 13 were shown in ASH classes and ALL have won Futurities and Led Championships at Royal and National Level, and Open classes, such as Barastoc Horse of the Year, Victoria. These include Chalani Tempo & Chalani Ripple, 3/4 sister  retained by the stud, who won the SA State Yearling Futurity in 2016, and Kiahglenn Allegra, bred by Chalani and  owned by Kelsey Stafford, an National ASH winning mare & Novice campdrafter by Chalani Sunstream.
